Face of Chilid – Józek, our Front end Developer

Józek is one of the most experienced front-end developers in our company. He always does his job to the best of his ability, keeping the code level at a high quality while never forgetting about accuracy. Award landed in his hands. Congratulations Józek!

Why do you work here in particular? Why Chilid, why Gliwice?
It was like I was a single bullet in a revolver – I had just one shot, one bullet. I always knew this was somewhere I would love to work. I started about 2 years ago and ever since I have felt as if I’m part of a big family. It is a pleasure working with so many talented and inspiring people around me every day.

Do you have any odd phobias?
I have a slight case of OCD, just a little… thats why my workspace and computer are always clean.

What’s playing in your headphones right now?
The Trashmen – Surfin’ Bird

How do you recharge?
Recently I fell in love with my longboard, so on sunny days you will find me pushing along the road. In the evenings my default battery charger is a combination of Spotify, MacBook and my B&O headphones.

What was your childhood nickname?
Flakman – please don’t ask me why.

What did you get a prize for?
I’ve created a good Google Spreadsheet. Right?

face of the month - Józek

Which apps do you use daily (not just occasionally)?
Spotify – but when I’m deep into it, there is a 90% chance that I’ll have also opened my VSCode. It’s not my fault… I’m just a programmer!

Why didn’t you do graphic design?
It is a good question, one I ask myself every day. I have a good eye for detail as well as a creative mind with strong architectural and logical leanings. I have always wanted to create well designed and useful things underpinned by well-written, clean and complex logic. I like design, the frontend and at the same time the backend stuff too. You can call me über developer. You know… I don’t believe the common saying that if a person is good at many different things, they can’t do anything really well.

Any hidden talents?
I speak English when I sleepwalk.

Favourite music genre?
A wide range of Electronic / Ambient tunes, and of course sweet old 60’s – 80’s classics.

Who did you want to be as a kid?
Darth Vader! I don’t know why I always preferred the villain badasses in the Star Wars franchise. Disclaimer – I don’t have asthma!

Tabs or spaces?
2 Spaces… c’mon!
