Face of Chilid – Kuba, our front end developer

Kuba is a man in whom youthful lightness of spirit combines with mature professionalism. In our opinion he knows his limits perfectly well – and he doesn’t care about them at all. He does what he can to keep things moving in the right way: he learns, develops, fights, and doesn’t give up. We really appreciate working with him in the same team.

Why do you work here? Why Chilid, why Gliwice?
I moved to Gliwice to study at the Silesian University of Technology. Artistic fuel is running thru my veins, that’s why I’ve chosen Chilid. Taking the first steps in my IT career, I was afraid I’d become a boring programmer, but Chilid, besides coding, gives me an opportunity to design web products and improve my business skills.

How long have you worked as a front-end developer?
I have two years’ experience as a front-end developer.

Tell me, what is the most interesting thing about your job?
There is no daily routine.  Every day I meet new challenges. I’m a developer but sometimes I’ve got to be a designer, business shark or social media ninja. No room for boredom here!

Who are some of your heroes?
SpongeBob SquarePants. I admire his style of life and incredible joy of every single day. He’s full of positive energy and love. Yeah… I know, that’s weird to be inspired by a yellow sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea but I’m a weirdo too.

What are your other interests outside of work?
There are a lot of them. I can’t imagine a day without music, it’s my greatest passion. I’m a huge fan of heavy metal music, I love to headbang, dance pogo, and crowd surf at metal gigs. I also play guitar and piano. I like to spend time at the skatepark doing some tricks on my inline skates or penny board. I love my labrador and going for walks through the forest with her. At night, I like to watch horror movies.

If you had just 1 box for all of your stuff, what would you put in it?
Headphones, penny board, and hair gel.

Your favourite dish in your favourite bar?
McDonald’s French Fries!!! I’m lovin’ it.

Do you have any strange phobias?
I’m scared to death when I notice a 7-year-old girl in pyjamas standing alone in the middle of a forest on a dark night.

What’s playing in your headphones right now?
The Satanist by Behemoth. It sends shivers down my spine!
