Face of the month – Maria

And the January Face goes to… Maria! Maria is one of our Chilid supergirls. She is not afraid to take on any challenge, and she brings great passion and a relentless commitment to excellence to her work. Congratulations, Maria!

Why do you work here? Why Chilid in particular? Why Gliwice?
Last summer, I needed to find an internship as it’s one of the requirements for graduation, so I was looking for something front-end related. I saw Chilid at one of the university open days and decided to give it a try. The moment I stepped into their office, heard good music playing in the background and felt the amazing atmosphere, I knew that this is where I belong.

Do you have any strange phobias?
The things that terrify me most of all are any kind of insect – worms and so on. Even butterflies make me feel uncomfortable… I mean, their wings are pretty, but have you seen their bodies?

If you had to eat only one type of food for a year, what would it be?

If you had just one box for all of your stuff, what would you put in it?
Plenty of food definitely, plus my phone and headphones… Can I fit my car in the box too?

What’s on your bucket list?
Visiting every continent at least once, knowing as many languages as possible (I’m learning Dutch and Russian at the moment), parachute jumping and many many more!

What was your childhood nickname?
I don’t think I had any… but as I went to school one year earlier than I should have, everybody at school always called me kiddo.

What interests do you have other than work?
Recently I started practising kickboxing. We’ll have to see how that goes.

What’s your favourite music genre?
Back in high school I used to listen to rather heavy tunes, metal and heavy rock, but for a few years now I’ve mainly been listening to electronic music. It depends on my mood though. From time to time I still tend to listen to some heavier tracks.

Who did you want to be when you were a kid?
A secret agent. Guess I watched too many movies!

How does someone surprise you?
Better not… I’m not a fan of surprises.
